Vince Cook

Accomplished banking executive with over three decades of experience in the financial services industry.  Served as the CEO of the National Bank of Fujairah (NBF) from 2010 to 2024, leading a transformative era of growth and innovation.  Under his leadership, NBF significantly expanded its SME banking, trade finance and Islamic finance offerings.

Formerly CEO of The Islamic Bank of Asia Limited in Singapore, General Manager for Corporate Banking and Capital Markets at Qatar National Bank (QNB) and Managing Director for the GCC at Barclays Capital.

Awarded the Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) by King Charles III in recognition of his contributions to UK-UAE business relations and his dedication to the British community in Dubai. MBA from Henley Management College and a Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of Liverpool.

Ali Pirbhai

Over 20 years of senior leadership experience across the UK and GCC in SME banking, financial services, and strategic advisory. Formerly Regional Managing Director at FTSE 250-listed Metro Bank UK, leading a $4bn business with over 450 employees, building a $1bn SME lending portfolio, and playing a key role in the bank’s scale-up and IPO in 2016.

Previously served as Corporate Banking Director at The Royal Bank of Scotland in London, responsible for building and leading the SME & Franchise division. Founder & Managing Partner of APX Capital & Advisory, a Dubai-based boutique advisory firm focused on growth strategy, value creation, and subject matter expertise for banks and fintechs across the GCC and UK.

Mentor to early-stage ventures through the DIFC’s Ignyte startup programme and currently undertaking an Executive MBA at Hult International Business School, Dubai.

Tamer Bazzari

Founder and CEO at Genero Capital with 30 years of diverse experience across Financial Services, Corporate Finance, Private Equity and many other sectors with a focus on SMEs across the MENA region.

Former Group CEO of Rasmala, a UK listed MENA focused investment bank, with $1.3bn in AUM. Worked previously at Dubai Financial Market and Ernst & Young in the UAE, and Deloitte in Canada and Cayman. Co-founded several ventures including an F&B group with 1,300 employees. Currently managing a UAE SME lending portfolio with a net annual yield of 12% over 8 years.

Subbu Krishnamurthy

Subbu is a senior banking executive with over 30 years of experience in transaction banking, structured trade and commodity finance, and digital transformation. He built the Transaction Banking division at National Bank of Fujairah (NBF), co-created the UAE Trade Connect platform, and led multiple award-winning innovations in trade finance and AI-powered service delivery.

He previously held senior roles at Standard Chartered Bank, where he helped launch wholesale banking operations in Egypt and Kuwait and led the bank’s first leveraged finance deal in MENA. Subbu holds an MBA from XLRI India and certifications in credit and data science.

Ghassan Dernaika

A senior credit and risk executive with 20 years of experience across wholesale, retail, and Islamic banking. He established and led the Credit function at Zand Bank, driving the digitisation and automation of loan origination, implementing AI-assisted underwriting, and designing an ESG and climate risk framework integrated into core banking processes.

He previously held senior roles at Emirates Islamic Bank, Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ, Moody’s Investors Services, and Al Khalij Commercial Bank, where he advanced risk governance, portfolio diversification, and regulatory alignment. He holds a Master’s Degree in Finance Studies from Saint-Joseph University, Lebanon, and is CFA qualified with additional certifications in commercial credit and securities.

Adrian Mofakham

Adrian is an accomplished Chief Technology Officer with over 20 years of experience driving digital transformation and delivering strategic technology solutions across banking, finance, and emerging sectors. He has a proven track record in leading the design and delivery of scalable, high-performance systems that enhance operational efficiency and enable growth.

Combining hands-on technical expertise with strategic leadership and strong consulting capabilities, Adrian is passionate about innovation and start-ups. He has successfully guided emerging ventures by leveraging cutting-edge technologies to disrupt traditional models and create new opportunities.

Ina Ilin

A seasoned finance and operations executive with two decades of experience across private equity, asset management, and global banking.

She has led multi-jurisdictional fund setups and governance frameworks spanning DIFC, Cayman, BVI, and Jersey. She was most recently the COO & CFO at a Dubai based Private Equity firm, overseeing fund operations, finance, and investor relations while driving Shariah-compliant structuring and portfolio integration.

Earlier, she held senior roles at Legatum, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, and J.P. Morgan, leading complex audits, system implementations, and regulatory reporting. She holds an MBA from Bayes Business School and is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA Australia).

Product & Technology Consultant

Kristjan Kaar

Kristjan is a seasoned fintech product leader with over 15 years of experience, currently serving as Chief Product Officer at Finom, a Netherlands-based digital financial services platform for SMEs, where he leads its product strategy and innovation efforts. Prior to joining Finom, Kristjan was Chief Product Officer at OakNorth Bank, where he led the credit intelligence division and helped build data-driven lending tools tailored to SMEs. He also spent over seven years at Bloomberg, where he held various leadership roles.

Kristjan holds a degree from the University of Oxford and brings a strong combination of strategic product development expertise, deep financial services knowledge, and a proven track record of delivering impactful solutions at the intersection of technology and finance.

Arif Albastaki

A seasoned executive with over 28 years of leadership experience across banking, finance, and diverse industry sectors. Currently serving as CEO of Amlak Finance since 2007, where he has led major business transformations and financial restructurings.

Prior to Amlak, Arif held senior roles at HSBC, Dubai Islamic Bank, and ABN AMRO Bank. He currently serves on the boards of Emaar The Economic City (KSA), EII Capital, and Americana.

He previously held board positions at Aramex, Daman, TECOM Group, and AWQAF & Minors Affairs Foundation. He holds a master’s degree in International Business from the University of Wollongong, Dubai.

Jawdat Al Halabi

Over 36 years of Commercial and Investment Banking experience in Saudi Arabia and Jordan. He previously served as Head of Global Private & Investment Banking at Arab Bank in Jordan and CEO of NCB Capital in Riyadh.

He has advised on the setup and governance of family offices in the UAE and Saudi Arabia and continues to serve on boards across various sectors including financial services, healthcare, F&B, hospitality, and fintech. He holds a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University, and has completed executive programs at Wharton and Stanford.

A seasoned banker with over 36 years of leadership in wealth management across Asia and the Middle East. He is the Founder & CEO of 3D Advisory, and an advisor to McKinsey, Mastercard, and IBM.

Suvo was Group Head of Retail & Wealth at ENBD, overseeing $3B in revenue across five markets. He led the digital transformation of the bank and launched Liv., the region’s first digital bank. He held senior roles at Citibank, ANZ, and Standard Chartered, and served on the board of Network International and ENBD Asset Management.

An IIT gold medalist and IIM Calcutta MBA, Suvo completed executive programs at Stanford, INSEAD, and Oxford, and received multiple industry awards including Digital Leader of the Middle East and Global Lifetime Achievement.

Osama Qadan

A senior executive, investor, and business leader with over 27 years of expertise in telecom, technology, logistics, and legal sectors. He has led multinational teams, driven business transformations, and expanded companies into new markets.

An active investor, Osama has backed and exited multiple ventures, including founding Equinox International in 2005 and leading it through two investment rounds before a full exit in 2018. He holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology, an M.Sc. from Georgia Tech, and an MBA from Johns Hopkins University.
